Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform timely and accurate patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following hospital protocols
• Monitor patient status and recognize changes requiring intervention or escalation
• Document care accurately in the medical record and communicate findings to the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and supporting best practices

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana required
• Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and reliable attendance

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment, vital signs, and focused clinical exams
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Solid documentation practices and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
