Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic echocardiograms, TEEs and stress echocardiography with accuracy and professionalism
• Operate and maintain Philips Epiq scanners and ensure image quality for cardiology review
• Document studies in Epic and CPACS promptly and clearly to support patient care
• Collaborate with cardiologists for readings and deliver relevant clinical information
• Participate in on-call, weekend and holiday rotations to provide consistent patient coverage
• Adhere to department protocols, infection control and dress code (solid scrubs excluding navy blue)
• Complete required orientation and competency validation to meet facility standards

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer — RDCS (Adult Echocardiography) via ARDMS required (RDCS-AE)
• ARDMS RCS and/or RDCS specialty certification accepted
• BLS (AHA) current certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience
• Comfortable performing TEEs and stress echocardiography
• Ability to work scheduled weekends, participate in holiday call rotation and respond to on-call requirements
• Driver’s license required (60-mile radius requirement); must be able to be in-state for orientation week

Education

• ARDMS credentialing (RDCS-AE or RCS) required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Formal sonography training or equivalent clinical experience (minimum 1 year experience expected)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong echocardiography skills including transthoracic echos, TEEs and stress echos
• Experience with Epic charting system and CPACS for PACS workflow
• Proficiency using Philips Epiq ultrasound equipment
• Cardiology-focused imaging knowledge and ability to support cardiologist readings
• Good patient communication, time management and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow protocols, complete accurate documentation and manage study volumes (~8 studies/day)
