Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, day shift (days not specified)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
Monitor and document vital signs, behavior changes, and resident needs
Support the nursing team in implementing individualized care plans
Maintain accurate and timely charting and handoff communication
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures

Qualifications

GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
Comfortable assisting with transfers and providing hands-on patient care
Dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered care
Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident hygiene
Familiarity with taking and recording vital signs
Good documentation habits and clear communication with care teams
Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
