Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub across multiple service lines including General, GYN, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Thoracic, and Robotics
• Ensure patient safety by maintaining sterile technique and anticipating the needs of the surgical team
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to deliver seamless care
• Operate and document in clinical systems such as Epic and Pyxis, and communicate effectively using Vocera and Outlook
• Prepare and verify surgical instruments and supplies, and support efficient OR turnover
• Educate and reassure patients and families as appropriate before and after procedures
• Assist with call coverage and participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience (mandatory)
• Valid Ohio RN license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association only
• Preferred: Level I trauma experience and CNOR certification
• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, walk throughout the day and lift, push, or pull up to 250 lbs with assistance
• Comfortable using Epic, Pyxis, Vocera, and Outlook in a fast-paced OR environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room nursing: circulating and scrubbing
• Perioperative workflows across multiple surgical specialties
• Electronic health record documentation in Epic
• Medication dispensing systems like Pyxis
• Real-time communication via Vocera
• Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
• Team communication and collaboration in high-acuity surgical settings
