Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical function and develop individualized treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as gait training and therapeutic exercise
• Monitor and document patient progress in the medical record with clarity and clinical insight
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility strategies
• Contribute to discharge planning and transitions to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one quickly
• Clinical experience in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate patient-centered approach

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and functional mobility training
• Experience with balance, gait, and transfer training
• Proficient in patient assessment, treatment planning, and outcome measurement
• Knowledgeable about safety, fall prevention, and adaptive equipment
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers in clear, motivating ways
