Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency and medical-surgical nursing care for assigned patients
• Triage incoming ED patients and rapidly initiate appropriate interventions
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition using sound clinical judgment
• Float between the ER and MS units as patient volume requires to ensure safe staffing
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient transfers and admissions
• Maintain certification-driven competencies including Trinity specialty testing and skills checklists
• Participate in holiday rotation and support continuity of care during peak times
• Uphold hospital policies, infection control practices, and safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS required; PALS, ACLS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and participating in holiday rotations
• Ability to float between Emergency and Medical-Surgical units
• Successful completion of facility onboarding requirements: fit test, drug screen, immunizations and health screenings
• Strong assessment and triage skills with effective team communication

• Emergency Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing fundamentals
• Triage and rapid patient assessment
• Skillful clinical decision-making under pressure
• Familiarity with specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Effective documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced acute care environment
