Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and medical-surgical patients closely, interpreting rhythms and escalating changes promptly
• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care for MS/Tele patients with an emphasis on safety and dignity
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in Epic and communicate updates during handoffs
• Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility demands, maintaining high standards of care
• Support unit staffing and participate in weekend coverage rotations as scheduled
• Contribute to a positive work environment by mentoring peers and sharing best practices

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years MS/Telemetry experience (MS/Tele experience explicitly requested)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to float between like units as needed
• First-time travelers accepted; locals within a 50-mile radius of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not accepted per facility rule

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Medical-surgical nursing best practices and patient assessment skills
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
• Ability to manage patient ratios typical for the unit (noted ratios 1:5-6)
• Adaptability to float between similar units and meet unit needs
