Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered physical therapy evaluations and treatments to support recovery and functional goals
• Develop individualized care plans and adjust interventions based on patient progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support safe transitions
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and discharge planning
• Participate in department meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Maryland, or eligible to obtain Maryland licensure promptly
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Proven ability to assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions for diverse patient populations
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Previous experience in an inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing environment preferred

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or a related degree recognized for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills
• Familiarity with therapeutic exercise prescription and functional mobility training
• Skilled in gait training, balance interventions, and use of assistive devices
• Comfortable with documentation systems and timely charting
• Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient safety and positive outcomes
