Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care for older adults, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Support safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident comfort and well-being

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) as required by the facility
• Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility policy
• Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and TB screening as required
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for older adults

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe resident handling
• Understanding of infection control practices and basic nursing documentation
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition accurately
• Good time management and teamwork skills in a fast-paced care environment
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident privacy and dignity
