Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients rapidly to prioritize the most critical care needs
- Stabilize trauma and emergency patients and coordinate transfers for specialty inpatient care when needed
- Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing interventions across all ages, including pediatric and psychiatric emergencies
- Perform and supervise decontamination procedures and emergency response for hazardous exposures
- Collaborate with physicians, paramedics and the ED team to ensure timely, high-quality patient care
- Maintain detailed, timely documentation and communicate effectively with families and referral teams
- Support a calm, safe environment in trauma and dedicated pediatric/psyche treatment rooms
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact RN license in-hand at upload (facility will not pend license)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months (required)
- Rural or small-facility ED experience (required)
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
- TNCC strongly preferred
- Traveler must have own vehicle and include permanent address in profile; facility will not consider travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility
- All scheduling requests and any requested time off must be noted and verified at upload
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and trauma care expertise including triage and rapid assessment
- Pediatric and psychiatric emergency care experience
- Experience with decontamination procedures and hazardous exposure response
- Ability to work independently in a 25-bed, 24/7-staffed ED at a rural community hospital
- Strong communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary emergency care team
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing critical patients
