Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and any changes in resident condition
• Support mealtime assistance and encourage proper nutrition and hydration
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families about resident needs and care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices
• Promote resident independence and engage in meaningful, respectful interactions

Qualifications

• GNA classification indicated (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — certification or equivalent experience preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with activities of daily living
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Reliable, compassionate, and attentive to resident needs; background checks as required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and safety procedures
• Skill in assisting with ADLs: bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting
• Ability to observe, document, and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills and respectful bedside manner
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling/transfers
