Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to elderly residents, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
• Support residents with daily living activities while promoting dignity and independence
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with mealtime support and monitor dietary needs as directed
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or completion of an approved GNA program
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass required background checks, health screenings, and TB testing
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of elder care best practices and dignity-centered assistance
• Familiarity with safe resident transfer and positioning techniques
• Basic clinical observation skills and ability to report changes accurately
• Infection control practices and safe hygiene procedures
• Teamwork, time management, and effective communication with residents and staff
• Comfort with basic charting and following care plans
