Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret continuous telemetry to detect dysrhythmias and escalate appropriately
• Provide comprehensive MS/Telemetry nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, including neuro and ortho trauma cases
• Administer and manage IV therapy, central/PICC lines, blood products, and medication protocols
• Manage respiratory supports such as BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula to maintain patient stability
• Perform feeding tube management and other gastrointestinal care with attention to safety and comfort
• Respond as an active member of rapid response/code teams and deliver emergency cardiac interventions when needed
• Document accurately in Epic to ensure clear interdisciplinary communication and continuity of care
• Collaborate with PT, RT, pharmacy, social services and other teams to deliver coordinated patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current RN license (able to practice in North Carolina) — pending licenses are not accepted
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required/preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Minimum ~2 years of MS/Telemetry nursing experience preferred (first-time travelers are welcome)
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and 1:5-6 patient ratios
• Ability to float to similar units within facility scope of practice
• Willingness to work nights with an every-other-weekend requirement

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Dysrhythmia management and emergency cardiac response
• IV therapy, peripheral/central line and PICC management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocol familiarity
• Respiratory support: BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Feeding tube care and GI management
• Wound care including wound vacs and drain management
• Working with rapid response/code teams and multidisciplinary clinical teams
