Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic IVs, chemotherapy and blood products safely and competently
• Assess patients pre-, during and post-infusion, monitoring for reactions and side effects
• Educate patients and caregivers about infusion therapy, side effect management and follow-up care
• Document care accurately in the medical record and communicate changes to the care team
• Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and related equipment
• Collaborate with oncology team members to coordinate care and treatment plans
• Respond to infusion reactions and emergent situations per protocol
• Maintain chemo safety procedures, safe handling and disposal practices

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license in good standing (required)
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (required)
• Minimum of 3 years RN infusion experience (preferred but commonly required)
• Experience administering chemotherapy and blood products in an outpatient infusion setting
• Nursys license verification available upon request
• Comfortable working Monday-Friday daytime outpatient clinic schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Infusion nursing best practices and IV therapy expertise
• Chemotherapy administration and oncology care knowledge
• Blood product administration and monitoring
• Patient education and therapeutic communication
• Familiarity with infusion pumps, venous access devices and sterile technique
• Clinical documentation and charting accuracy
• Ability to identify and manage infusion reactions and emergencies
