Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and design individualized occupational therapy plans
• Develop and implement treatment programs across outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and home health settings
• Deliver meaningful hand therapy interventions when applicable to improve dexterity and return to function
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Document progress and outcomes accurately using clinical software and maintain regulatory-compliant records
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home exercise programs, and safety practices
• Communicate clearly with referral sources, caregivers, and the care team to optimize transitions of care

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (state license required)
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master’s degree preferred
• National certification as an Occupational Therapist preferred
• CPR certification required
• Experience across outpatient and inpatient settings; home health experience a plus
• Hand therapy experience preferred but not required
• Spanish language skills a plus
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and computer/documentation skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (preferred)
• National occupational therapy certification (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of outpatient and inpatient OT evaluation and treatment techniques
• Comfortable with swing bed and home health care delivery
• Skilled in clinical documentation and using electronic medical records
• Strong communication, patient education, and family/caregiver training skills
• Familiarity with basic hand therapy interventions preferred
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team

This is a travel/contract role based in Yuma, Colorado — a friendly small-town hub on the High Plains.
