Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night-focused schedule: 3x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (night shifts). Schedule assignments are assessed every 4-week period; may include a mix of day/night depending on department priorities. Block schedules: Yes. Weekends: variable based on unit needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with solid tumor cancers throughout diagnosis, treatment and transition to end-of-life care
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to promptly escalate and manage cardiac events
• Safely administer chemotherapy and blood products following unit protocols and safety checks (ONS Chemo preferred)
• Access and manage central lines and ports, draw central line labs, and start/maintain peripheral IVs
• Use EPIC for accurate, timely computerized charting and interdisciplinary communication
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions rigorously to protect immunocompromised patients
• Respond to emergencies and provide cardiac monitoring and emergency interventions as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy and social services to coordinate holistic patient care
• Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed and support unit staffing goals

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Ohio (must be eligible to practice)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required (must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass)
• BLS certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Demonstrated telemetry experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Competence in central line management, blood product administration, IV insertion and maintenance
• Comfort using EPIC or similar electronic health records
• Willingness to float to other MedSurg Oncology units and engage in on-unit orientation with a preceptor
