Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and create individualized, evidence-based speech therapy plans that truly make a difference
• Diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders with compassion and clinical rigor
• Implement therapeutic techniques to improve communication and swallowing safety and quality of life
• Monitor resident progress, adjust treatment plans, and celebrate clinical milestones with the care team
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and therapists to ensure cohesive, person-centered care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation that supports resident outcomes and continuity of care
• Educate residents and caregivers on strategies to enhance communication and ensure swallowing safety

Qualifications

• Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license (required)
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program (required)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Previous SNF, rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, patient care, and interpersonal skills

Education

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy
• Skilled in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and outcome documentation
• Comfortable working within interdisciplinary care teams and communicating clearly
• Proficient clinical documentation and time management in an SNF setting
• Ability to educate residents and caregivers in practical, easy-to-follow strategies
