Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, high-acuity nursing care to burn, trauma and surgical ICU patients at a 2:1 ratio
• Manage critical care equipment and devices, including EVDs and advanced monitoring
• Perform wound care and participate in massive transfusion protocol (MTP) activations when needed
• Lead and participate in rapid code responses and coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Document thorough, timely patient records in Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
• Float and collaborate across MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU and PCU as clinical needs require
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the care team to advocate for optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TX) required
• Minimum 1 year ICU/critical care experience; trauma, burn or surgical ICU experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred
• CCRN or equivalent critical care certification preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and meeting the 2 weekends per pay period requirement
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems

Education

• RN required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Trauma, burn and surgical critical care knowledge
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Skilled in EVD management, wound care, and massive transfusion protocol (MTP)
• Experienced in code response and emergency interventions
• Competent with critical care equipment and ventilator management
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient advocacy skills
