Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases
• Serve as the circulating RN during surgical procedures, maintaining patient advocacy and safety throughout
• Implement the nursing process and adhere to established standards of care, policies and procedures
• Direct and supervise assigned personnel, ensuring clear communication and coordinated care
• Collaborate with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor or RN Team Leader to support unit workflow
• Document patient care accurately and communicate changes in patient condition promptly

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Oregon licensure or compact RN as applicable) — required
• Perioperative nursing experience with demonstrated competence in pre/intra/postoperative care
• Experience working as a circulator and supervising assigned staff
• Strong patient advocacy skills and commitment to standards of care
• Excellent communication, situational awareness and teamwork skills
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recommended or required per facility policy

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of the nursing process and perioperative nursing principles
• Knowledge of facility policies, standards of care and infection control practices
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Skillful patient advocacy, assessment and safety monitoring
• Competence in documentation, surgical instrumentation flow and intraoperative communication
