Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography and CT exams (screening, diagnostic, stereotactic breast biopsy, specimen radiography, breast needle localization)
• Execute diagnostic radiography and sonographic examinations for patients across the lifespan, applying radiation protection principles
• Maintain and lead departmental quality assurance/quality control processes and documentation
• Assist with interventional CT procedures, sterile technique, and preparation for invasive imaging procedures
• Operate contrast injectors and adjust protocols for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
• Perform venipuncture as part of imaging procedures and assist with patient transfer and positioning
• Maintain patient records, support teleradiology transmission, and ensure equipment care and record maintenance
• Participate in supply inventory, ordering, department meetings, in-services and disaster drills
• Pursue continuing education and maintain modality competency; document required CEUs and exam volumes per regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
• Ability to perform diagnostic exams in assigned modalities (mammography, CT, general radiography, ultrasound as applicable)
• Comfort working across modalities and willingness to learn additional imaging skills as assigned
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly when needed
• Familiarity with sterile technique, venipuncture, contrast administration and teleradiology transmission

Education

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
• ARDMS certification preferred for ultrasound roles or as part of multi-modality qualification
• Clinical competency assessment as required by employer

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography: screening, diagnostic, stereotactic procedures and specimen radiography
• CT imaging and interventional CT support, including contrast injector operation
• Diagnostic radiography and sonography/ultrasound techniques
• Radiation protection principles and application
• Quality assurance/quality control processes and documentation
• Clinical competency assessments and continuing education maintenance
• Supply inventory and basic equipment care
• Teleradiology transmission and electronic record-keeping
