Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the LTC QAPI program to drive measurable improvements in resident care
- Plan, organize and direct quality assurance activities, including chart audits and data-driven performance reviews
- Facilitate accreditation readiness and support regulatory survey activities to ensure compliance with CMS and other bodies
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and develop action plans to correct identified deficiencies
- Design and maintain QAPI plans, track recommendations, and report outcomes to facility leadership
- Organize and lead quality committee meetings, prioritize improvement efforts, and maintain meeting documentation
- Collaborate with administration, providers and frontline staff to embed patient safety and quality into daily operations
- Perform infection control facilitation and support facility-wide safety and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Alaska
- CPHQ or QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) or other LTC Quality Certification obtained within the past 3 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC (as required)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience monitoring quality and regulatory requirements and coordinating process changes
- Demonstrated leadership in facilitating cross-functional teams and improving clinical processes
Education
- Active RN license (specific degree level not specified in posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of accreditation requirements across long-term care and related settings
- Understanding of quality improvement concepts and practices, including QAPI methodology
- Experience with chart review, data analytics and performance measurement
- Skilled in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action planning
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data presentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication, coaching and mentoring abilities
- Familiarity with infection control practices and regulatory compliance (CMS)
