Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging and diagnostic radiographic exams with attention to patient safety
- Prepare and operate CT and X-ray equipment, ensuring proper setup and calibration
- Prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies and medications in a timely, professional manner
- Administer and prepare contrast media and perform intravenous contrast injections when indicated
- Follow and enforce quality assurance, radiation protection and ARRT standards of ethics
- Provide compassionate patient care, accurate positioning and clear communication throughout exams
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records while supporting departmental protocols
- Collaborate with radiology team and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and excellent care
Qualifications
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT) required
- Approved CPR certification required
- Two years of diagnostic x-ray experience desired
- One year of CT experience desired
- ARRT registration/license desired
- Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification desired
- Radiologic Technologist fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Advanced certification in CT is a plus
Education
- Full certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the California Department of Health Services
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT imaging principles
- Strong patient care, positioning and communication skills
- Expertise in radiation protection, radiobiology and quality assurance
- Proficiency with CT and X-ray equipment operation and safety procedures
- Skill in intravenous contrast administration and venipuncture techniques
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow policies, enforce standards and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
