Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide medically prescribed occupational therapy interventions to help patients regain independence
- Assess patient functional abilities and create individualized treatment plans
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques and adaptive strategies
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and adaptive equipment
- Document progress, maintain accurate clinical records, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Montana
- OTR credential preferred or national certification as applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable with documentation and electronic medical records
- Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain) and ability to pass background/drug screening
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or OTD preferred) or equivalent accredited program completion
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and individualized treatment planning
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting, and therapeutic modalities
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team
- Comfort working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan
