Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to oncology/BMT ICU patients
- Manage ventilators and BiPAP settings to support complex respiratory needs
- Titrate vasoactive drips and maintain precise IV pump/A-line management
- Provide tracheostomy care, dressing changes, and total care for critically ill patients
- Monitor hemodynamics and participate in CRRT care when indicated
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR
- Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain safe patient ratios (typically 2:1) and follow unit policies and shift reporting procedures
Qualifications
- Current RN (Registered Nurse) credential — must be in good standing
- ACLS and BLS required
- Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care nursing experience (experience with ventilated patients and titrating drips emphasized)
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management, BiPAP, A-line monitoring, and IV pumps
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- CRRT and transplant (kidney, pancreas, liver) experience are nice-to-have
- Compassionate, team-oriented attitude with strong communication and rapport with physicians
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing principles and oncology/BMT patient needs
- Ventilator and BiPAP management
- Medication titration and vasoactive drip management
- Tracheostomy care and advanced airway management
- Hemodynamic monitoring and A-line/IV pump use
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) familiarity
- Meditech EMR and Flow-track documentation
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity ICU settings
