Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality radiographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation
- Perform diagnostic medical radiography and CT imaging while applying radiation protection principles
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging files to ensure continuity of care
- Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance and daily/weekly QC tasks
- Assist with interventional/CT procedures, including preparation and sterile technique support
- Set up and operate contrast injectors and adjust protocols by patient age to optimize care
- Transmit images via teleradiology systems and consult with referring physicians as needed
- Participate in inventory, ordering, and general department maintenance to keep operations running smoothly
- Rotate shifts and take call as required to provide consistent patient coverage
Qualifications
- Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
- Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
- Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality
- Willingness to be on-call and report to work within 20 minutes
- Open to cross-training and competency in additional imaging modalities as assigned
- Preferred: ARRT certifications in CT, MR, MG, NM or ARDMS/other multi-modality credentials
Education
- Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
- Clinical competency verification within 3 months of hire and ongoing every three years
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiography and CT imaging fundamentals
- Radiation protection and diagnostic image quality principles
- Patient care across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatric adults
- Contrast administration and contraindication awareness
- Quality assurance processes and routine QC
- Teleradiology systems and image transmission competency
- Sterile technique and support for invasive procedures
- Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work under stress
