Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care and perform focused nursing assessments for pulmonary patients
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
- Assist providers during exams and procedures and support diagnostic workflows
- Educate patients and families on pulmonary conditions, medications, and self-care plans
- Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations and implement appropriate interventions
- Maintain meticulous documentation using office procedures, ICD-10 and CPT coding awareness
- Participate as a collaborative member of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care
Qualifications
- Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- One year of nursing experience preferred (high-volume clinic experience a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform patient transfers as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinic and willing to travel to other offices
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (diploma, ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and clinical nursing skills specific to outpatient/pulmonary settings
- Medication administration and monitoring for therapeutic effect
- Nursing assessment and patient education techniques
- Documentation and charting best practices
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Emergency response and basic life support
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Office procedures and high-volume clinic workflows
