Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the Radiology program and ensure high-quality imaging services across the facility
- Manage and track radiology studies to ensure proper submission and reporting
- Provide PACS training and troubleshoot transcription or workflow issues
- Ensure radiology equipment is maintained, inspected, and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain radiology policies and procedures to support safe, effective care
- Lead the radiation protection monitoring program and ensure staff safety
- Collaborate with Finance to maintain the radiology chargemaster and identify revenue improvement opportunities
- Ensure QA/QC activities are completed and prepare necessary reports
- Supervise radiology staff, conduct evaluations, and ensure training and competency for all who perform exams
- Perform radiologic exams within your scope of competency and support staff when needed
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- Registered Radiological Technologist (ARRT) — required
- Registered Mammographer preferred; Registered Ultrasound Technologist preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Radiology Management and supervision
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Radiology Technologist
- PACS training required; CT and MRI technologist experience preferred
- Demonstrated supervisory experience and strong team leadership skills
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of PACS and digitized imaging workflows
- Familiarity with MQSA requirements and other federal/state accreditation regulations
- Experience with radiology QA/QC processes and equipment maintenance protocols
- Strong oral and written communication and medical documentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, create radiology manuals, and document clinical information clearly
- Comfort working in multiple computer systems and supporting transcription workflows
- Experience managing radiation safety programs, including lead apron testing
