Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations of all body parts with professionalism and attention to patient safety
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment, set protocols, and adjust contrast levels for age-appropriate imaging
- Assist with interventional procedures and prepare sterile fields and equipment as needed
- Maintain patient records, documentation, and quality assurance logs accurately and promptly
- Practice radiation protection principles and participate in daily/weekly QC activities
- Provide compassionate patient care, including safe patient transfers and age-appropriate communication
- Support teleradiology transmission and consult with referring physicians when appropriate
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, disaster drills, and continuing education
Qualifications
- Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
- Clinical competency demonstrated within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
- Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality (CT and X-ray experience preferred)
- Comfortable rotating shifts, taking on-call responsibilities, and reporting promptly when needed
- Competent in sterile technique and familiar with contrast administration and automatic injector use
- Ability to assist with venipuncture and invasive procedures as part of CT/interventional support
- Willingness to cross-train in other imaging modalities (XR, MRI, CT, Mammography) as needed
Education
- Current ARRT in Radiography (certification required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiography, CT imaging, and diagnostic X-ray techniques
- Understanding of radiation protection and quality assurance processes
- Experience or familiarity with interventional procedures and tele-radiology transmission
- Skill in patient assessment, safe transfers, and age-appropriate patient care
- Competency with QC procedures, equipment care, and supply inventory/ordering
- Comfort with sterile technique, contrast protocols, and automatic injector setup
- Willingness to pursue continuing education and maintain competency in multiple modalities
