Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (overnight); includes scheduled weekends — staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology and women's surgical patients
- Administer medications and monitor infusion therapy with strong attention to safety
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor changes, and escalate concerns to the care team
- Document care accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity and high-quality outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, HUCs and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care
- Support patients and families with education, emotional support and discharge planning
- Participate in unit protocols and quality initiatives to maintain excellent patient ratios and safety
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (experience in oncology or med-surg preferred)
- Chemo certification preferred but not required — candidates with infusion/oncology experience encouraged
- Experience charting in Cerner EMR is a plus
- Team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn new procedures and unit workflows
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong oncology nursing knowledge including infusion monitoring and symptom management
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (Cerner preferred)
- Ability to perform or assist with procedures common to the unit (occasional pelvic exams, echo, thoracentesis)
- Excellent assessment, communication and patient education skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced med-surg/oncology environment with 1:4–1:5 patient ratios
- Adaptability to rotating schedules and occasional floating to other med-surg units
