Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct pharmacy operations across assigned site(s), ensuring safe, efficient medication use and positive patient outcomes
- Collaborate with system pharmacy leadership to develop solutions, plan operations, and support budgeting and performance goals
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs that meet regulatory standards
- Lead and coach pharmacy staff through hiring, development, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and morale-building
- Work with information systems to optimize pharmacy information management systems, charge processes, and inventory control
- Represent pharmacy on committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Safety, Information Systems, and Patient Medication Safety
- Monitor productivity, financial, and clinical metrics and adjust plans to meet targets and improve patient care
- Step in as needed to perform pharmacy manager duties and support site-level operational success
Qualifications
- PharmD from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration, or equivalent work experience
- Active Wisconsin pharmacy license
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a pharmacy setting
- Experience with pharmacy information management systems and inventory control
- Demonstrated experience in policy/procedure development, QA, and regulatory compliance
- Strong human resources experience including interviewing, performance management, and conflict resolution
Education
- PharmD
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Pharmacy operations and medication safety best practices
- Regulatory compliance and quality assurance in a health-system pharmacy
- Budgeting, financial management, and inventory control principles
- Supervisory and staff management skills including coaching and development
- Policy and procedure development and implementation
- Experience participating in Pharmacy & Therapeutics and safety-focused committees
- Collaborative leadership and strong communication with medical and nursing staff
