Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images that aid patient care
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate imaging and timely results
- Ensure patient safety and comfort through proper positioning, shielding, and clear communication
- Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate exposure records
- Perform routine equipment checks, report malfunctions, and coordinate maintenance as needed
- Document procedures and maintain precise patient records in electronic systems
- Adapt quickly to new workflows at each assignment and contribute positively to team morale
Qualifications
- Current ARRT (R) certification or equivalent certification as required by the facility
- Valid state radiologic technologist license or ability to obtain licensure for the assignment state
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Previous experience in diagnostic radiography; travel experience is a plus
- Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Strong patient communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field (Bachelor degree preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with digital radiography systems and PACS image management
- Solid knowledge of anatomy, positioning techniques, and exposure factors
- Familiarity with radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Ability to troubleshoot common equipment issues and escalate appropriately
- Comfortable working in fast-paced acute care settings and adapting to new protocols
- Good documentation practices and comfort with electronic medical records
