Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services (EVS) and Grounds teams with clarity and purpose
• Supervise approximately 45 FTEs across multiple divisions, setting expectations and fostering teamwork
• Direct maintenance of utility systems to ensure continuous heat, steam, electric power, gas and oxygen for patient care
• Inspect equipment and implement preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and best practices
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building and fire codes to keep patients and staff safe
• Develop job-specific customer service expectations and associated training plans to elevate service across the organization
• Act as a collaborative liaison with other departments to assess needs and deliver actionable facility solutions
• Oversee contractor compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Proven knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste management, life safety codes and construction phasing
• Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Must be willing to relocate to a rural area

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Facilities management and preventive maintenance best practices
• Plant operations and utility system oversight (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen)
• HVAC, boiler systems, plumbing and electrical systems troubleshooting
• Environmental services operations and grounds maintenance
• Regulatory compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA and CMS
• Team leadership, personnel management and staff development
• Contractor oversight and project coordination
• Customer service orientation and cross-department collaboration
