Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for solid organ transplant and PCU patients, ensuring safety and dignity at every step
• Monitor telemetry and assess changes in patient condition, escalating concerns to the transplant team as needed
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in Meditech with attention to detail
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, transplant coordinators, and support staff to coordinate patient-centered care
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and rapid changes in patient status, using ACLS/BLS skills when required
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-transplant care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs
• Manage time and priorities efficiently to maintain estimated patient ratios (approximately 1:4) while delivering compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the assignment location (Texas) or compact license where applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or PCU experience (solid organ transplant experience strongly preferred)
• Current BLS certification (required) and ACLS certification (required)
• Proven time management skills and ability to work independently on night shift
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and Meditech EMR documentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care (PCU) nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Solid organ transplant patient care and perioperative knowledge
• Meditech electronic medical record proficiency
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly
