Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Lead and Senior Technologists to deliver excellent imaging services
- Manage daily staffing and workflows to meet productivity and budget targets
- Ensure image quality control and enforce departmental policies and procedures
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and support department program development
- Oversee regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, ACR) and quality assurance
- Provide direct patient diagnostic procedures and education to patients, families, and staff
- Act as a liaison between patients, physicians and care teams to solve issues and improve care
- Coach, mentor and develop staff through feedback, training and progressive discipline when needed
- Monitor departmental performance, resources and recommend operational improvements
- Collaborate with nursing, clerical staff and service engineers to coordinate imaging services
Qualifications
- Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the State of California OR current ARRT license
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum five years experience as a working Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting
- Minimum two years supervisory experience in an acute-care setting
- Desired: three to five years prior supervisory/managerial experience
- Desired: certification in a specialized area (MRI, NMTBC, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills
Education
- Associate Degree (minimum)
- Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) or ARRT licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, and ACR survey/compliance
- Strong background in image quality control, radiation protection and radiation physics
- Expertise in patient positioning, radiologic exposure principles and radiobiology
- Experience with quality assurance, performance improvement and regulatory standards
- Ability to lead teams, delegate effectively and motivate staff respectfully
- Excellent communication, documentation and interdepartmental collaboration skills
- Competence in managing resources, staffing and daily operational needs
