Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage telemetry patients using continuous cardiac monitoring and frequent assessments
• Administer and titrate IV medications and drips safely and according to unit protocols
• Perform thorough patient assessments every four hours and escalate changes in condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate post-op and trauma care
• Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care for surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and maintain clear handoffs
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers when needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (required)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/PCU or similar preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH certification preferred
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IV/drip management, and cardiac patient care
• Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
• Experience with Meditech is a plus
• Trauma or orthopedic experience preferred but not required

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• IV medication and heparin/vasoactive drip management
• Post-operative and trauma patient care principles
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and team members
• Adaptability to changing patient care needs and unit demands
