Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards
- Coordinate patient care with providers, coordinators and clinical managers to ensure seamless treatment
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff and providers to enhance patient experience
- Perform and interpret EKGs and monitor for cardiac arrhythmias
- Administer cardiac medications and assist with cardiac procedures as appropriate
- Document patient assessments, interventions and education accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications and follow-up care
- Contribute to a culture of safety, compassion and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Active Montana RN license (MT RN Licensure required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Preferred: at least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening (background check, drug screen, health/immunizations)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EKGs and identification of cardiac arrhythmias
- Knowledge of cardiac medications and common cardiac procedures
- Familiarity with basic coronary class concepts and medical terminology
- Solid foundation in basic nursing principles and outpatient nursing procedures
- Patient care coordination and strong communication skills
- Keyboarding and basic office skills for efficient documentation
- Compassion, teamwork and patient liaison abilities to build strong patient relationships
