Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform clinical dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants to optimize patient outcomes
- Verify medications and oversee medication distribution workflows using Dose Edge and Pyxis
- Compound sterile IV products and ensure compounding accuracy with Dose Edge verification
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis checks and first-dose processes
- Conduct pain consults and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on medication therapy
- Manage emergency medication boxes and rapid-response medication needs during critical events
- Document clinical interventions and maintain accurate medication records in Meditech EMR
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)
- Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO pharmacist license) — required
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (inpatient experience strongly preferred)
- ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
- NICU experience is a nice-to-have and will make your application stand out
- Comfortable using Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
- Experience supervising technicians and performing sterile compounding
Education
- Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Dose Edge workflow and sterile IV compounding verification
- Hands-on experience with Pyxis and Pak Edge automated dispensing systems
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record documentation
- Strong clinical knowledge in vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing
- Excellent medication verification, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to lead and train pharmacy technicians in a fast-paced inpatient setting
