Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to laboring patients from admission through delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond quickly to changing clinical conditions
• Assist and circulate during C-sections and support scrub roles in the OR when needed
• Manage epidurals and spinals and administer critical IV drips such as magnesium for high-acuity cases
• Collaborate closely with the Level III NICU team for complex neonatal needs and transfers
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech and CPN
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care
• Float within the women’s and children’s service line as clinical needs require

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery (explicit requirement)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Comfortable with Meditech and CPN documentation systems
• Experience with circulating C-sections and assisting in OR (scrub experience is a plus)
• Comfort managing high-acuity obstetric patients and IV drips (e.g., magnesium)
• Level III NICU exposure is preferred
• AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate certification noted by hospital but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in C-sections, epidurals and spinals
• Knowledge of cerclage and version procedures
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills in OB triage and LDR settings
• Ability to manage PACU and antepartum patient needs
• Proficient with Meditech and CPN electronic documentation
• Excellent teamwork, communication and patient education skills
• Comfort with floating across women’s and children’s units and adapting to unit needs
