Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care for medical/surgical and critically ill patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and implement advanced nursing interventions
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators and multiple IV pumps
- Manage invasive lines such as A-lines and central lines, and care for chest tubes
- Serve as a clinical leader on the unit and assist with precepting new staff
- Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning
- Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
- Provide direction and mentorship to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and support staff during shifts
Qualifications
- Current Montana RN licensure required
- BLS and ACLS required
- PALS, ENPC, TNCC preferred but not required
- Recent critical care nursing experience and practice in an advanced medical/surgical unit required
- Demonstrated ability to operate advanced monitoring and life support equipment
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, and comfort with precepting staff
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Degree from a Nursing Program required)

- Patient assessment and advanced nursing principles
- Ventilator and ventilatory support management
- Central line, A-line and invasive line care
- IV therapy and IV pump operation
- Chest tube management
- Continuous patient monitoring and use of advanced medical equipment
- Medical-surgical and critical care nursing methodologies
- Clinical leadership, team coordination, and discharge planning
