Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality mammography exams and imaging procedures following department protocols
- Provide compassionate patient education, obtain informed consent, and ensure patient comfort
- Maintain regulatory compliance and adhere to FDA mammography guidelines and ALARA radiation safety standards
- Complete daily quality assurance and preventative maintenance checks to keep equipment operating safely
- Manage and maintain accreditation records and structured reporting to support audits and quality initiatives
- Accurately document patient records in the EHR and ensure prior studies and paperwork are available for interpretation
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service calls when needed
- Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transport as required to support smooth clinic operations
- Train, assist, and cross-train imaging staff to build a capable, flexible team
- Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory to ensure uninterrupted patient care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) — required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Preferred: Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT and MRI
- Experience with PACS, RIS/HIS, and EHR systems
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 if the role requires driving)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in mammography imaging, image acquisition, and quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS and EHR workflows and image reporting
- Excellent patient care, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to follow protocols, maintain accurate documentation, and support accreditation processes
- Technical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment
- Teamwork mindset and ability to cross-train in other modalities
