Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' functional abilities using clinical judgment to create personalized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions across inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, and skilled nursing settings
- Document assessments, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries accurately in the EMR
- Manage a diverse caseload independently, prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff to coordinate holistic care
- Educate patients and families on strategies to improve independence and quality of life
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with California OT regulatory requirements and facility policies
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapist License in good standing
- BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) current certification
- 2-3 years of experience in acute care, rehabilitation, or outpatient settings preferred
- Proficiency with EMR documentation and basic computer skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach and commitment to continuous learning
Education
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and functional evaluation
- Individualized treatment planning and goal setting
- EMR documentation best practices
- Caseload management and prioritization
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication
- Rehabilitation techniques across settings (inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing)
