Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiography and vascular ultrasound exams with precision and care
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Assess image quality in real time and capture additional views as needed to support diagnosis
- Provide compassionate patient preparation, positioning and education before procedures
- Document exam findings accurately and communicate critical results to the care team
- Work independently to manage your caseload and prioritize patient needs
- Adhere to infection control, safety standards and facility protocols at all times
Qualifications
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required
- Demonstrated skill in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound techniques
- Comfortable working independently and making timely clinical decisions
- Strong patient-care and communication skills for a travel/contract environment
- Current basic life support (BLS) or facility-required certifications as applicable
Education
- Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound or vascular technology program preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in transthoracic echocardiography and vascular duplex imaging
- Knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
- Ability to optimize ultrasound settings and troubleshoot imaging issues
- Competence in patient positioning, EKG correlation and sterile technique when needed
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse care teams and patients
