Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention activities across the hospital, with a special focus on the operating room and sterile processing
• Monitor infection surveillance data and identify trends to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with surgical teams and SPD staff to ensure sterile technique and compliance with protocols
• Develop and deliver targeted education and training to clinical staff on infection control best practices
• Investigate and manage potential exposures and outbreaks, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Participate in policy review and quality improvement initiatives to reduce infection risk

Qualifications

• Experience working in infection control in a hospital setting, with demonstrated work history in OR and sterile processing
• Current RN license in good standing is preferred
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is a plus
• Strong clinical communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with surveillance systems, data interpretation and reporting

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Infection prevention and control principles and surveillance
• Operating room workflows and sterile processing practices
• Policy development, staff education and quality improvement
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to interpret clinical data and translate findings into action
