Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, and stroke conditions
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, titrate drips like Heparin, Nitro, and Cardizem
Manage arterial lines and high-flow oxygen therapy
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes and experience
Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed to support PCU-acuity patients
Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and discharge plans

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum of 2 years of PCU or step-down experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Competency in arterial lines and telemetry strip interpretation
Comfortable with titrating cardiac drips
Flexible, adaptable team player with strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in sepsis management, stroke care, and renal failure care
Experience with high-flow oxygen and non-invasive ventilation
Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize care
Cultural sensitivity to serve diverse populations, including Hispanic and Somalian communities
