Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including oncology and trauma PCU/MedSurg patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem as needed
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians
• Perform hourly rounding and ensure patient safety and satisfaction
• Float to other MedSurg and PCU units within your skill set
• Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Oncology nursing experience
• First-time travelers are welcome – we support your adventure
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• Driver's license required for verification of residency outside 50-mile radius from CommonSpirit facilities
• Must pass an open-book exam during orientation with 90% or higher
• EPIC experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work 36 hours per week on a 13-week contract

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in chemotherapy administration and IV therapy
• Experience with PCU-level care, including monitoring of drips and telemetry
• Comfortable with EPIC and other EMR systems
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment
• Knowledge of trauma nursing and oncology patient management
