Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend, every third holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit
Monitor and titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and patient care techs to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed, expanding your clinical skills
Perform continuous EEG monitoring and manage cardiac, nephrology, and stroke patients
Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication skills to support the team

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU or similar acute care experience preferred
Must pass an open-book orientation exam with 90% or higher
Driver's license required at submittal to verify residency outside 50 miles
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Education

Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in titrating cardiac and seizure medications
Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with telemetry and continuous EEG monitoring
