Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-15-2026

End Date: 09-14-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM one day per week; weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off that week)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments to acute inpatients with diverse diagnoses including general medical deconditioning, total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and CVA
Cover multiple units such as Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER to ensure continuity of care
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, function, and quality of life
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

Current California Physical Therapy license required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
Minimum of 1 year of acute inpatient physical therapy experience required
Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in evaluating and treating orthopedic, neurologic, and medically complex patients
Knowledge of evidence-based practice in acute care rehabilitation
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Excellent time management and organizational skills
