Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), including weekends as scheduled

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to adult patients on a high-flow PCU unit
Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes
Titrate intravenous drips including heparin, insulin, and octreotide
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
Facilitate frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges with efficiency and positivity
Float to med/surg, ICU, or ED as needed based on patient care demands

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required at submission)
Valid driver's license (must be outside 50-mile radius from facility)
Minimum 1 year of PCU or telemetry experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Skill in titrating and managing common IV drips
Strong teamwork and communication abilities in fast-paced environments
Familiarity with electronic health records and unit equipment (code carts, LUCAS, hoyer lift)
Positive attitude and adaptability to high-acuity, high-volume settings
