Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU
• Monitor and assess vital signs, respiratory status, and developmental needs of premature and full-term infants
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage complex medical equipment including ventilators and cooling protocols
• Collaborate with neonatologists, midlevels, and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Educate and support families, guiding them through their NICU journey with compassion and clarity
• Maintain sterile field during procedures such as central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertions
• Participate in SIMs Lab skills validation to ensure competency in critical nursing skills

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
• Previous travel experience highly preferred
• Must be within 50 miles of Phoenix (driver's license as proof of residency)
• Ability to pass SIMs Lab on Day 1 with competency in sterile technique

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in sterile technique for central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
• Strong knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and cardiac STABLE certification
• Experience with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitoring
• Understanding of lift, restraint, and wound care protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
