Shift Type: Night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 12-hour nights; schedule varies and may include weekends and scheduled on-call assignments

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage incoming patients and prioritize care based on clinical needs and patient flow
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Provide patient and family education, including discharge planning and follow-up instructions
- Document thorough nursing histories, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
- Respond to emergencies and manage complications per Mount Nittany policies and ENA standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, efficient care
- Participate in hourly rounding and waiting room checks to improve patient experience
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania RN license (required)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association standards)
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association standards)
- Current PALS certification (American Heart Association standards)
- Valid NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Emergency nursing experience and comfort working 12-hour night shifts
- Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills; team-oriented
- EPIC charting experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and rapid patient assessment
- Care planning and implementation in the ED setting
- Patient education and clear discharge instruction
- Accurate, timely documentation and charting (EPIC preferred)
- Emergency response and critical thinking under pressure
- Familiarity with ENA standards and Mount Nittany procedures
- Compassionate patient/family communication and de-escalation skills
